... Come on newgrounds... an advertisement EVERY time you fail a level... Good game. Nothing new but good no less. I wish the graphics were better though.

Thanks for feedback. Fixed the ad part.
It's good. Nothing new but good no less.
I happen to disagree with RantYou. It's easy to insult someone else when you come up with a half assed solution to a definite problem that really doesn't solve anything. One thing that would break up the boredom that you obtain after playing this game for a while would certainly be music. Just three, five minute tracks and a track selector would give the player a half an hour of play-time with guaranteed lack of boredom because many players [like myself] would continue playing the game the entire length of each song and possibly listen to them twice depending on the quality of the song. So there is a half hour. Even for those who don't care about music, people would enjoy the game for about 1O minutes then realize once they started getting annoyed with the music that there is a track selector. They would change the track and they would get another 1O minutes and the process would repeat itself unless of course the person was so turned off by the music that they just turned it off. Definitely include a mute button for those individuals because then RantYou's half assed solution would be perfect for closed minded individuals that can't possibly appreciate anything but what they are used to.

You have a good point about adding a jukebox to the game. There are plenty of awesome good quality songs on NG, but when I tried adding my favourites to game - they felt out of place. It looked like the music itself is so way better than a game, there is no reason to finish levels :). So I tried to find something which will go better with the actual game - something that matches game mechanic and theme (at least in my opinion). I wasn't satisfied with my search results when it became clear that my music selection is annoying to some degree and different people see no relation between game and music. That's how it happened :)
P.S. Thanks for a review. I think music track selection would be a great addition to any game without it.
Mediocre at best. There is a lot of elements in this game that could have been cool. Here's the problems: the biggest problem was the controls. They are very clunky and half of the time the button commands glitch or lag. I have an awesome computer so I know that's not the reason. This thing easily played Diablo 3 which has the highest system requirements of any game.
Some parts of the graphics were awkward and poorly done like when you aim at the ground and when you jump down from things. Also, climbing over objects is just retarded. The W button really doesn't have a purpose because just touching the sprint button [which is pretty much what I'm doing the whole time because the character moves way too slow without it] does the same thing. You should have made w jump and you should have not even included a sprint button and made him just move that fast all the time.
Crouching would be cool if you could actually crouch effectively behind cover but you can't. Also when crouching it should improve your accuracy. Hell, the accuracy is terrible period.
There should be more guns.
The pistol should be a lot more accurate.
The shotgun should be a lot stronger.
The list of crap goes on and on. Nice try but you failed.
lol!
Haha nice. I pissed my girlfriend off with this hahaha. The gun shoots a little low and to the right though. ;]
It's randomized inaccuracy.
I am honestly not all that impressed. I guess this game just isn't one for me but I'll break down what I specifically don't like about it. There is no skills. You use a silly lantern and a crossbow to kill 2 different kinds of enemies - not very engaging.
The story seemed to have a few holes in it... like for example if the event that is happening is one of great calamity why wouldn't the 'group/order/whatever' send someone a little bit more reliable than Anselm? Anselm relies on a demon to give him the knowledge he needs to deal with the demons. It doesn't make much sense to me. I do realize that that was mostly there to teach us how to play the game but there is so many different ways you could have done that.
The puzzles were easy and also not engaging. I just overall was just not very impressed with it. Good animation and humor though. I do think you did well it's just not for me. 3/5.
Thank you for your honesty! We are looking to improve upon many of these things for the remake! Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. :)
