Not fun. Where's the upgrades? 1 Star for effort but there's nothing to this game.

Not a bad little game. I would have liked to see a little better graphics. I think that I noticed differences with the teams. If there is differences you should specify with a brief description.

Hi, thanks for the comment. Actually, there are no differences among teams in terms of their skill. Only thing is that some species are simply bigger (which is easily spotted by observing their avatars), and thus - do better goalkeeping.

Good game

Well, let's see, this game is great. I like it a lot. The problem I've found with it, and it's becoming a problem more and more common on newgrounds, is that it's too easy. Within 2 hours I beat it and within another half an hour later I had all the achievements.

Excellent graphics and great game mechanic although the problem is that the rock-paper-scissors strategy gets old and there is literally NO replay value. Most strategy defense games have a rock paper scissors system but there is much more too them. For example, the Epic War series. There is certainly a rock-paper-scissors element in that game but the thing is; I could choose to ONLY use paper if I wanted to. Although there would obviously be disadvantages, the fact remained that I could specialize in only a couple different unit types to hone my specific strategy. I have always been the high speed/high damage - low hp, low defense kind of guy. We all know the advantages and disadvantages of operating that way however that's just what I like to do. All I'm asking for is some options. In this game; there are none. Therefor, there is no replay value because there is no possible other way that this game could be played.

Next time you should consider a limited number of unit slots and twice the amount of units. You should also consider an upgrade tree for the general [yourself] that would include unlocking unit slots, command formations, party buffs, etc.

I rated it 3.5 because of the excellent graphics and initial playability. This game really hooks you in... so much in fact that by time you realize that this game isn't as good as you thought you are a little over half way through and it keeps you just long enough to finish it.

The game mechanic is really well done and easy to operate. The problem is that it is too easy offering no options, simple-one sided strategy, and NO reason what-so-ever to play this game again.

I feel very generous offering 3.5/5 but again; very good graphics ;]

I do find this game exceptionally well made. There is only one problem though and this is a problem with pretty much all top down shooters; the problem when you aim at something behind you while you are moving. The screen instantly causes the camera to center-focus on the side you are aiming which then causes you to have to move the mouse again in-order re-aim your shot. It doesn't happen all the time and I noticed, the more I played the game the less it happened so I must have got subconsciously used to it. It's not a huge problem but a problem no less. It's pretty annoying when that happens especially when that 3/4 of one second could be the difference between killing 1 zombie and killing 3. Also, like I said, this is a problem with most [probably all but I'm certain I haven't played every one of them] top down shooters.

I also have to comment on one reviewer's review. I do love the Last Stand games myself as well. I think that this is worlds better than Last Stand 1 and 2 but Union City I believe is better. I like the side scrolling mechanic more than the top down. Also, the zombies were definitely more believable in Union City than this game.

I have said this once or twice when reviewing the Last Stand games as well; I hate that zombies use tools. I can buy aligator/humanoid zombies that somehow have taken home in the sewers but I can't stand the idea that a zombie can use a gun. I'm the George Romero/Max Brooks zombie fan and those of you that know what I'm talking about would agree as such.

I do realize that you're the maker and the game was fun no matter who's idea of a zombie is right, considering the things don't and have never existed, which is why I didn't take anything away on that regards but still... zombies don't use tools... for anything... other than their teeth... and hands... which could decay and break into very sharp bones that can easily lacerate human flesh...

Great game though! Awesome fun for many hours... and hours... and hours.
------------ 4.5 -------------

At first I was more-than turned on by the graphics and I almost immediately rated it high but after finishing my first race I've got to say my disappointment just continued to pile up.

First thing is that there really isn't anything too it. A little more to the gameplay would have gone a long way. For example, some elements of mario cart. It didn't have to be a carbon copy but some kind of tool you could use to slow down your enemies or make them crash.

The boxes are great... when they work for what they are intended to do. They do not work when you hit the turbo arrows. You just pass right through them. The only thing they do when you are not turbo is just bump you out of the way... not slow you down.

Grass does not slow you down. You pass through trees thus eliminating the need to stay on the road.

Turning is just as loose when you're slow as when you are going fast plus, changing directions abruptly doesn't slow you down at all. Physics tells me that is extremely unrealistic and takes away from the excitement of playing a racing game.

All these elements make it just as easy to play the game on hard as it is on easy. All I have to do is drive and don't hit the walls. Staying on the road doesn't matter, turning doesn't slow you down, hitting boxes doesn't slow you down, hitting trees doesn't low you down, heck, hitting enemies doesn't slow anyone down.

My last issue I'm going to point out is that the levels are really long. Considering all I have to do is hold the up button and hit the turbo arrows and I'm certainly going to win, you should have made the levels smaller that way the player could feel the need to get through them all before actually rating this submission. I was so bored with the first level that I didn't care to play the other three.

I give you one star because I don't see this getting blammed and I want the protection point otherwise I would have blammed the shit out of this submission. I wish others would see it my way because I'd prefer a blam point to a protection point but... it is what it is. Nice graphics. Nice try. Good luck on your next submission.

Eh... It's worth playing and I'm certain others will probably like it better but I didn't play it very long. It got pretty boring. I don't know why cause' I usually love zombie rpg action games but this one didn't really offer anything shocking or exciting... I liked the intro comic sequence though. Music would have also increased my level of appreciation.

Thank you for your suggestions guys!

... Come on newgrounds... an advertisement EVERY time you fail a level... Good game. Nothing new but good no less. I wish the graphics were better though.

newfunv responds:

Thanks for feedback. Fixed the ad part.

Cool music. Cool little game. There isn't much to the graphics but you indicated that you didn't spend too much time on it; still fun though.

JackAstral responds:

Thanks :)

I like it a lot. It's challenging and very fun. So fun in fact that I'm going to play it again. The music is great the graphics are good; simple but good no less.
